• Outpatient Cardiac Rehab & Maintenance
(formally called Phase II & III)

• Outpatient Cardiac Rehab:  Outpatient Cardiac Rehab is typically prescribed for those patients who have had a myocardial infarction (MI), coronary artery bypass graph (CABG), valve surgery, stent placement, angioplasty or angina diagnosed within the preceding 12 months.  The patients' blood pressure will be monitored each session.  In addition, the patients' heart rhythm will be monitored with telemetry monitoring.

• Maintenance Cardiac Rehab:  Maintenance Cardiac Rehab follows the same structure and format as Outpatient Rehab.  The critical difference being that patients enrolled in this program will not be monitored with telemetry monitoring.  It is designed for two types of patients.  The first being those patients who would like to continue working out in a hospital setting maintaining their fitness levels.  Also included within this group are those patients who may not necessarily have a cardiac condition but highly at risk for one (i.e. overweight, uncontrolled diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, high cholesterol, and high blood pressures...).  Exercise is known to help these patients and we want to provide them with a safe environment to try to improve their health.  The second type of patient benefiting from Maintenance Cardiac Rehab would be those patients whose insurance companies do not cover Outpatient Rehab.  These patients will require a doctor's order with full realization that they will not be monitored.  Insurance companies do not cover Maintenance Cardiac Rehab.  It will be upon the patient to pay $33/month fee for maintenance.
