Phelps Memorial Health Center is excited to welcome Sadie (Damrow) Johnson, PA-C, as a new provider in the Specialty Clinic. Johnson has nearly a decade of experience in the cardiology specialty, and is currently accepting appointments for patients in the clinic.
“I really love the Holdrege community and am looking forward to caring for patients in my hometown,” Johnson said.
Phelps Memorial recently built a new cardiac cath lab, and will begin offering minimally invasive cardiac cath procedures, as well as interventional radiology procedures, in partnership with cardiologists from Lincoln based Pioneer Heart Institute and radiologists from Advanced Medical Imaging in early 2023.
“The cardiologists at Pioneer Heart Institute are incredibly talented, and I am excited to work with them,” Johnson said. “I love that Phelps Memorial is willing to bring high-level specialty providers to Holdrege so that patients are able to have procedures and testing done here rather than having to drive for their care.”
Procedures done in the cath lab are outpatient procedures conducted by a team of interventional cardiologists, nurses and radiology technicians. These procedures can help identify and diagnose coronary artery disease, assess vascular issues, or identify any issues with blood flow to and from the heart.
The cath lab also has more advanced imaging equipment that will also allow the interventional radiologists to perform biopsies and other procedures that require imaging guidance.
Johnson grew up in Holdrege. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and completed her graduate studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. She and her husband Aaron live in Holdrege with their children.
