Phelps Memorial Health Center is excited to announce that Cheryl Klausen, APRN, has joined the  Cardiovascular Clinic which is now open five days a week. Klausen has 21 years of experience as a cardiology nurse practitioner and is currently accepting appointments for patients in the clinic.

“I love what I do and I love to work with my patients to better their health,” said Klausen.  “I look forward to working with Sadie Johnson, PA-C, Pioneer Heart Institute providers, and our cardiology staff to improve outcomes for patients in Holdrege and beyond.”

Phelps Memorial Health Center’s cardiac cath lab offers minimally invasive cardiac cath procedures, as well as interventional radiology procedures, in partnership with cardiologists from Lincoln-based Pioneer Heart Institute and radiologists from Advanced Medical Imaging.

“The cardiovascular department at Phelps Memorial is a friendly environment focused on quality,” she said. “I partner with my patients to give them the education to help themselves once they get home. I work with their medical provider to provide the best care for each of my patients.”

Pete Whitley, Director of Cardiology, said “Cheryl is going to be a great addition to our cardiology team and we are lucky to have her experience when dealing with complex cardiac patients.”

Klausen received her undergraduate degree from Kearney State College and completed her graduate studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Her parents are residents of Holdrege and she and her husband Bob live in Rockville.
