About Total Joint & Spine Camp
Total Joint & Spine Camp is part of joint replacement and surgical spine services at Phelps Memorial Health Center. Attendees are encouraged to bring a guest that will be looking after them when they leave the hospital. At the program, patients and guests will learn what to expect before, during, and after surgery.
The camp takes place in a group setting as patients and guests will benefit from engaging with others going through the same experience. The Phelps Team will review every detail from pre-operative education to post-operative exercising. We will also discuss infection prevention and discharge planning needs.
Duration and Details
A teammate from Phelps Memorial Health Center will contact you to schedule your camp.
The camp is held every Tuesday at 12:00 PM and typically lasts 2-3 hours. Patients will receive special antibacterial soap with instructions on how to use it before surgery. We will also draw blood during the camp. Patients and guests will meet one-on-one with our Discharge Planning Team allowing the opportunity to discuss discharge needs prior to surgery.
