Pete Whitley, RN/BSN, has accepted the position of Director of Cardiology. Pete previously served as the manager of Cath Lab at Phelps Memorial.
In his new role, Pete will manage the cardiology department services, be responsible for overseeing daily operations, and collaborate with patients and healthcare professionals. He will oversee all aspects of the partnership with Pioneer Heart Institute, implement service line development to provide cardiology services to the community, and support the goals of Phelps Memorial. He will work closely with Sadie Johnson, PA, who specializes in cardiovascular disease.
Pete has a vast amount of experience in healthcare and has been a nurse for 18 years and has worked in the ER, critical care (cardiac and surgical/trauma), and leadership roles. He has been a member of Team Phelps since October 2022.
“I look forward to working with Pioneer Heart Institute providers and our cardiology staff to improve outcomes for patients in Holdrege and beyond,” he said.
He added, “Our department seeks to meet the needs of Phelps and surrounding counties by allowing patients to stay local while still getting high-end care from cardiac specialists. It is what I would want for my family and PMHC supports that ideal.”
Pete lives in Kearney with his wife and three sons.
