She is a co-leader of the Simple Solutions class, a pre-diabetes program at Phelps Memorial Health Center designed for pre-diabetics. In addition, Karen, teaches Cardiac Rehab participants about heart healthy eating. Along with patient education, she also has dietary in-service monthly for the dietary staff.
One thing Karen always stresses is how important it is to eat healthy at every age!
“Education is a powerful tool I can provide to my patients. It gives them an active role in their own health,” said Karen.
