Kaliprasad Ayala, MD, FACC, is no stranger to the Phelps Memorial Health Center Cardiovascular Clinic.  As a matter of fact, Dr. Ayala, saw patients here over three decades ago through cardiology outreach clinics. He began cardiology practice in Nebraska in 1992 and has been instrumental in the establishment of a vast network of cardiology outreach clinics to communities across Nebraska, including Phelps Memorial.

He brings a wealth of experience to the Phelps Memorial Cardiovascular Clinic which serves patients in our area five days a week.  Dr. Ayala is a specialist in cardiovascular disease with experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of cardiac and vascular conditions.  His expertise has contributed to the development of advanced programs for the diagnosis and treatment of heart failure, and valvular and structural heart disease.

“Pioneer Heart Institute's mission has always been to go to outreach clinics and serve patients and for them to receive cardiac care close to home,” Dr. Ayala said. “Since our practice opened we have tried to do as many procedures as possible in the local hospitals.  Now, with the progression of technology, we can do more and more.”

Phelps Memorial Health Center’s cardiac cath lab offers minimally invasive cardiac cath procedures, as well as interventional radiology procedures, in partnership with cardiologists from Lincoln-based Pioneer Heart Institute and radiologists from Advanced Medical Imaging.

“My availability to my patients is very important to me.  I want to be there for them, always. They can call me anytime,” he said.

Pete Whitley, Director of Cardiology, said “We are so lucky to have Dr. Ayala join the Pioneer Heart Institute team in coming to Holdrege. His knowledge in cardiology is unparalleled and his love of Nebraska is evident in his years of service to this state and its people.”
